West Gate Tunnel (Australia) Bridge 30 & Bridge 31
FPC Italia, in collaboration with Freyssinet
Australia PTY, got the supply of special bearings for two bridges in the
connecting road between the West Gate Freeway and Yarraville (Melbourne).
Technical dept. has designed Tetron CD bearings up to 11000 kN of vertical load and special bearings with anti-lifting with negative loads over 2200 kN, complete with lower and upper counterplates for connection to the structure.
The bearings were tested at ISOLAB before shipping under the supervision of the Politecnico di Milano.
